Summer

The heat pours from the burning sun,
Like rain in winter time.
And since the summer has begun,
The temperature will climb.

The long awaited summer days,
With sun and light blue sky.
Make life so great in many ways,
Of which I do not lie.

Lying back on a sandy beach,
Or swimming in a lake.
In winter these are out of reach,
In summer ours to take.

The heat and lovely gentle breeze,
Make life so great to live.
But sometimes we forget with ease
Just whose it is to give.

The shade we find under a tree,
On many afternoons,
Without this shade where would we be?
Summer would be in ruins.

It fits together oh so well,
The sun, the clouds, the rain,
‘Cause just when Summer burns like hell,
The autumn comes again.

Now God has planned each summer day,
He has planned each hour.
Summer time is another way,
That God shows us his power.
