You only see but reflections,
Or mirrored images of reality skewed.
Not showing beauty, your eyes deceived.
Without perspective bringing clarity,
Illusion eclipses truth.
Everything changes.
Love yourself… Yourself?
Love changes everything –
Truth eclipses illusion;
Clarity bringing perspective.
Without deceived eyes, your beauty showing,
Not skewed reality of images mirrored
Or reflections,
But see only you.
 

This poem was entered in the Artz Blitz competition in February 2025. The theme of “Love Yourself” was announced at 5:00pm on February 14th and the entires were due the next day. And yes, this poem is a reflection of itself, being the same when read forwards or backwards!
