Reaching Out

When you reach and cannot touch
An emptiness you feel
And when you speak and are not heard
Emotions can't reveal
The hurt and pain you feel inside
In someone else reflected
And every time you offer help
That help is just rejected
A hand held out in friendship now
Is like a stabbing knife
That will not stop and go away
But stays there all my life
And when I sit and think about
The reasons pushing me
I look into unfriendly eyes
No happiness I see
But when I see a smiling face
I know it’s not that bad
And there will be a happy end
Whenever I am sad.
