When you talk about sunsets at Wilsons Prom, the most common location mentioned would be the summit of Mount Oberon. It is true that the view from there is quite stunning. But it also requires getting there, most commonly driving to the Telegraph Saddle carpark.
There is, however, another option that also gives a spectacular view of the sunset, and that is Mount Bishop. It is much quicker and logistically easier to get to than the drive up to Mount Oberon.
The walk to Mount Bishop commences at the Lilly Pilly carpark and is around 7km return. It has more of a bushwalking feel than the Mount Oberon climb.
If you only have one opportunity for a sunset, then stick to Mount Oberon. It is hard to beat for the 360 degree views. But as an alternative, or for those with a bit less time on their hands, watching the sunset from Mount Bishop is equally magnificent.
