Morning of a New Year

As sun appears on morning new,
Lifting steam from night time’s dew,
I’m looking to the year ahead,
Things to be done, and to be said.

I’m looking at the year that’s passed,
Hoping all the good times last,
I hope this year will not be bad,
I hope I’m happy and not sad.

At times I’ve laughed and times I’ve cried,
At times I felt I could have died.
Some times were fun and really great,
Amongst memories these highly rate.

At times I’ve tried to be a friend,
I pray these friendships will not end.
And if I find my friends in need,
I pray I can give without greed.
