I see now as I close my eyes
What sight cannot perceive
Unless you give your love freely
No love can you receive.
Now love and hurt go hand in hand
But smiles do as well
And what's inside and hurting you
Your smiles will not tell.
And eyes can also tell you lies
For they're not always true
And when others look at your eyes
They are not seeing you.
Outside appearance can destroy
True communication
But it is what's inside that counts
To a close relation
A picture paints a thousand words
But hugs say even more
And when a tear is shed in trust
It opens up a door.
It's not a window looking in
Into another's soul
It is not only part of truth
When with love it is whole
And when you finally break through
The cold surrounding ice
You know what you'll find's not that bad
In fact it is quite nice.
A heart so filled with hurt inside
A heart filled with sadness
When it's expressed with love and trust
Can bring you great gladness
For to place trust when you've been hurt
Is a hard thing to do
For it is hard to know if their
Love for you can be true.
A silent tear is shed in trust
As you know I'm a friend
God's love for you will never die
Our friendship will not end.
