There is a fire in your heart,
That will not go away.
It’s been there burning since the start,
Each single living day.
It burns with love for those you do,
For those you’ll always care,
And burns also in them for you,
An endless loving flare.
It shares its warmth and tenderness,
A gentle caring light,
Protects you in the wilderness,
And keeps you through the night.
The love that helps the fire burn
Can never disappear.
It’s fueled by everything you learn,
Each thing you see and hear.
It is the spark that God installed
Within your very soul,
A resource on which I have called
To reach my every goal.
So as you watch the fire blaze,
Lift your standards higher,
And don’t get caught up in the haze.
Never doubt the fire.
