Geikie Gorge is around 20km drive from Fitzroy Crossing, a deep natural gorge forged by the Fitzroy River.
We were travelling across from Katherine to Broome, making Fitzroy Crossing a natural place to stop for the night.
We debated whether or not we should book a cruise, but are so glad that we did. The scenery was spectacular, especially at sunset.
We shared our cruise with a school group, which made it a bit more fun. The school kids were counting crocodiles, and I think it is fair to say that every shadow in the water or slightly wet log was good enough to count for them. We saw a few, but definitely not as many as they imagined!
