My name is Lloyd and I am from Melbourne, Australia. There is a lot I could say about myself, but this website is devoted to three specific elements that make me who I am; writing, speaking and adventures.
Writing
I have always loved writing, which led to studying Professional Writing at Deakin University. It was during my course there that I started having my work published, including an article in The Age as well as a children's short story; Losing Her Marbles. I finished my course with the intention of starting a career in writing, but then took a rather long gap year (you can read about that below).
Throughout that time, I never stopped writing, which is why I probably have about 17 different projects on the go at the moment. I am currently turning more attention back to my writing, and look forward to sharing all about it through this website.
Speaking
As I mentioned above, after completing university, I took a gap year working at a Christian campsite. One year turned into two, two into three, three into twenty-five! Throughout the past twenty-five years I have had the opportunity to speak at a variety of camps, youth events and churches to thousands of people. Whether that is to a large crowd or a small workshop, I enjoy delivering messages to encourage and inspire.
Adventures
Being from Australia, one of my favourite things is to get out into nature and explore. I spend a lot of time chasing mountaintops, sunsets and waterfalls - sometimes all in the same walk. I have my favourite places, such as Wilsons Prom and The Grampians, but I am always looking for a new hike to attempt. So this will be a place to share those adventures with the world.
